🏐 All About Volleyball 🏐
Volleyball is one of the most popular and dynamic sports in the world. It combines teamwork, strategy, and agility, making it both fun to play and exciting to watch. The sport is played by two teams separated by a net, where players aim to ground the ball on the opponent’s court.
History
Volleyball was created in 1895 by William G. Morgan in Holyoke, Massachusetts, USA. Originally called "Mintonette", it was invented as a less physically demanding alternative to basketball. Over time, the sport evolved and gained popularity worldwide, especially after becoming an Olympic sport in 1964.
Basic Rules
A volleyball team consists of six players on the court at a time. The objective is to send the ball over the net and make it touch the opponent’s ground while preventing it from touching your own. Each team can touch the ball up to three times before sending it back.
Game Structure
A standard match is played in a best-of-five sets format. The first four sets go up to 25 points, and the fifth set (if needed) goes up to 15. A team must win a set by at least two points.
